Before law school, law enforcement and public service were second nature to me. When I graduated and was hired as a deputy prosecutor, I became a third-generation public servant. I have sixteen years of experience as a deputy prosecuting attorney, beginning my career as a deputy prosecutor in Lake County, serving in the Drug Unit and as an assistant supervisor in the County Court Division.
After two and a half years in Lake County, I moved to Porter County, serving as a deputy prosecutor in both the Portage and Valparaiso offices for the next thirteen years. I have prosecuted and tried cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. I was also responsible for nearly all serious and fatal vehicle crash cases. I assisted law enforcement with search warrants for blood evidence, black box data, vehicle and home searches, and more.
As part of assisting police at crash scenes, I built partnerships with larger local police agencies to assist smaller departments with crash scene investigations. I will continue building stronger relationships with local, regional, and federal agencies. As your Porter County Prosecutor, I will take my experience and hard work to serve and protect all citizens of Porter County.
I will continue working tirelessly to ensure Porter County remains safe and a place where our citizens can prosper. I am committed to proactively addressing crime, especially violent crime and drug issues, while strengthening partnerships with our substance abuse agencies and recovery homes, and building lasting relationships that support a united, resilient community.
