Engaging & Promoting a Better Community

In addition to working with Porter County law enforcement agencies, I will engage with and enhance the work of social service providers and expand access to substance abuse and mental health services.

  • Porter County Substance Abuse Council / Porter County Drunk Driving Task Force
  • Respite House, Moraine House, and other substance abuse counseling agencies
  • Mental Health providers
  • Promote awareness of the dangers of social media and encourage responsible use among juveniles
  • Assist law enforcement agencies in providing educational programs that help parents recognize warning signs or behaviors influenced by negative factors, along with steps to help children avoid poor choices with long-term consequences

Proactive Responses to Crime

In addition to working with Porter County law enforcement agencies, I will engage with civic and business leaders and organizations to improve prevention programs that keep our community safe.

  • Assist local police agencies with proactive policing strategies to reduce violent crime, which has increased by approximately 30% in the last six years
